The Kitchen Assistant (Prep & Dish Support) at Revive supports the daily operations of the food services program by assisting with food preparation, meal service, dishwashing, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and safety. This role plays a key part in keeping the kitchen running smoothly by supporting the cook, ensuring sanitation standards are met, and helping manage food supplies.
The position may also assist with organizing donated food items by sorting and properly storing them according to food safety guidelines. Through these responsibilities, the Kitchen Assistant helps ensure nutritious meals are served in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, supporting Revive’s mission of compassionate care for individuals overcoming substance use and mental health challenges.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior food service, kitchen, or dishwashing experience is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with basic kitchen equipment and food safety practices preferred.
Formal food safety training is a plus but not required.
Required Skills/Abilities
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a kitchen environment with moderate noise levels and frequent exposure to varying temperatures, including heat from cooking areas and cold from coolers and freezers. The role also involves regular interaction with clients and staff within a behavioral health treatment setting.
Physical Demands:
his position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift, with frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying. The role involves performing repetitive tasks such as dishwashing, food preparation, and cleaning. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly and handle heavier items with assistance as needed. Work is performed in an environment that includes exposure to cleaning chemicals, kitchen equipment, and varying temperatures, requiring attention to safety at all times.
